The pier at wijk aan zee/ijmuiden

After spending 12 hours at home for my standbye duty (waiting till you get called for a flight) I really felt to get out of the house immediately. So that's why I went to one of my favourite places all time: the pier at wijk aan zee/ijmuiden. It's such a perfect place to set your mind free, to enjoy the view and to watch the sunset. On the pictures you can also see a huge cloud. This cloud, due to a fire in the dunes about 50km from where I was, scared me. Those poor people in Schoorl (the place where the fire is) already had to leave their houses last year due to a fire, and hopefully now the fireman will have it under control a.s.a.p.

Nadat ik 12 uur lang thuis heb moeten zitten voor mijn reserve dienst (wachten tot je word gebeld voor een vlucht) had ik echt de behoefte om het huis te verlaten. Daarom ben ik naar een van mijn favoriete plaatsjes aller tijden gegaan: de pier bij wijk aan zee/ijmuiden. Dit is echt de perfecte plaats om je gedachten achter je te laten, om van het uitzicht te genieten en om de zon te zien zakken in de zee. Op de foto's kunnen jullie ook een grote rookwolk zien. Deze komt uit schoorl, waar nu een heftige duinbrand woed. Het maakte me wel behoorlijk bang. Die arme mensen in schoorl, die dit nu al voor de tweede keer meemaken :( Hopelijk heeft de brandweer het snel onder controle!






For the dutchies amoung us: Timboektoe is echt een superleuke plek om naartoe te gaan! Goed uitzicht, chille sfeer en lekker eten!
