Hello everyone!
Finally, after a year without , I had a nightstop/layover in Bristol, UK. I already wrote about Bristol and how much I love it a while ago, so it was good to be back.
So why is it exactly that I love this british destination so much? Well let me start telling you about the shops: they have EVERYTHING. A HUGE primark with stuff you can't buy in the Netherlands. Besides that they have an urban outfitters, topshop, dorothy perkins and many many more. And it's all just around the corner of my hotel: perfect!
I also love the food: they have several good restaurants but I prefer going to Wagamama's or Jamie's Italian (jumjum!). But there are so many restaurants it's hard to make a decission! Anyway, during a sunny day you can chill in the park. It's a beautiful park and again, very close to my hotel. During the evening the squirrels will start squirreling around. So cute! They are not afraid of the people, so it's super fun to see them looking for food.
So yes, it was an absolute pleasure to be back in Bristol, I just love my job as a flight attendant!

Our company has a new destination: Manston/Kent and with that comes a new nightstop: Canterbury! And lucky me, just a few months after the companies official first flight, I had my first flight to Manston as well!
We arrived early that day, so plenty of time to discover this cute little city! And yes: it is officially a city, the Zara, H&M, Topshop and more UK goodies makes it complete. So we strolled around for a while and saw the old ruïn, the park, the church and the cute old houses. But Canterbury has even more to offer.
Our hotel is pretty as well: a boutique hotel in an old building but completely refurnished. The bedroom was massive, clean and very cosy! I loved my bed, it was HUGE! And they have the cutest soaps as well :) I had the best time in Canterbury, and the summer temperatures helped a lot as well!

I LOVE BRISTOL. End of the post. No, just kidding.
After the 'loss' of Liverpool, I wasn't bothered about the U.K. anymore. I even mentioned I wouldn't mind if I would never fly there anymore. But can we please forget that I ever mentioned that?
I re-discovered Bristol, during spring, with temperatures around 20 degrees celcius! This city is actually really beautiful to see! The buildings, the park, the relaxed vibe, everything!
And so I decided to go out on my own (everybody went shopping and I went out to see the city) and re-discover this lovely city. First I had to go to the huge Primark (I'm an addict!) and found some lovely goodies which I'll show you soon. I wandered around, went into other shops and decided to go to McDonalds and eat it while sitting in the park with my newest magazine (the first dutch Vogue!). After finishing my haute cuisine meal (notice the sarcasm?) I stroll around in the park, watching people. And that's also actually a fun thing to do when you're in the UK. People dress so differentely than the people who don't live on 'the island' (as we airline crew call it). You see many leggings worn as actual pants so you can see everything you don't want to see, too short tshirts and ofcourse all the naked skin (people, aren't you freezing?).
But no matter what, you can definitely shop in Bristol! And I do like the english people to be honest, while I have my doubts about the way they dress. They are actually my favorite passengers amoung all. They are polite, friendly and not arrogant (the complete opposite of the Dutchies, I don't like my own peeps!)
'Nough said, just visit Bristol if you can. Enjoy the park, enjoy the people, enjoy all the restaurants (or go to mcdonalds)

Yesterday was my very last nightstop in Liverpool. Our airline stops flying to this wonderful destination, and I will miss it BIGTIME! {I would like a moment to cry quietly in a corner}. From all the destinations in the U.K., Liverpool was by far my favorite. I'm not bothered to nightstop in other U.K. destinations, but I truly loved Liverpool. So I am actually sad that we're not flying there anymore. And because of that, I had to enjoy my last stop to the fullest. I spend the complete day outside. First I went out on my own for some quality time {e.g.: shopping}. After that, I went out with the first officer to see the cultural parts of Liverpool: we walked around in Albert's dock, in the city itself and payed a visit during daytime to the Cavern Club. There was live music and it was so much fun. As a lovely ending of the day we had diner at Jamie Oliver's italian restaurant. Oh nomnomnom.
What I loved about Liverpool? The vibe: our hotel is located in the harbor and has a beautiful view over the canal and the arena. We just have to cross the street to go to the shopping area of Liverpool, which is also pretty amazing if you ask me. Plenty of shops to visit: Zara, Mango, Gap, Primark, Topshop, Dorothy perkins etc etc. The city is HUGE! And besides that, you can have a lovely breakfast, lunch or diner in one of the many restaurants. My all time favorite is Jamie Oliver's italian restaurant, and we had a lovely late lunch/early diner over there. I had the fried mushrooms as a starter and the tagliatella bolognese as a main course. Loved it! And if you're not interested in shopping, don't hesitate to pay a visit to the Cavern Club, the cradle of British pop music and the place where the Beatles musical identitiy was formed. And the cavern is not the only place you need to visit if you're a Beatles fan: What do you think about Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane or you can just do the complete beatles tour.
And more reasons to visit Liverpool: it was the cultural capital of 2008. They made a major development and the city is nowadays so beautiful to see. You can have an amazing cultural day over there and include some quality shopping time. At night, the city is also full of life and has a major nightlive scene.
Buh baay liverpool. Was nice meeting ya.

Dusseldorf

Liverpool

I had a three-day trip for work to Dusseldorf and Liverpool. And lucky us, the weather couldn't have been better! We arrived around noon in Dusseldorf and spend the whole afternoon in the sun at the rijn (german/dutch river). We tanned, drank fresh white beer with lemon, ate some pretty good food and completely relaxed. We had dinner at Vapiano's in Dusseldorf. Which was pretty good! So whenever you are there, I would defenitely advise you to go there. Vapiano is a pretty good restaurant with an amazing concept. It's cheap and the food is delicious!
The next day we arrived early in Liverpool. And yet again the weather was amazing! We all went out shopping and I took some pretty pictures! Gosh, Liverpool is great! And pretty! Our crewhotel is at the opposite of the arena where they film xfactor (or at least that is what they've told me... it's a good hotel anyways). In the evening we went to a great thai restaurant and had an amazing dinner!
And now I spend the afternoon and evening in holland. Tomorrow morning I'm flying really early to Hamburg and have the whole afternoon there. So see you later!

Liverpool is super!
xoxo
