When I started the Fashion Moodboard, more than 2 years ago, my idea was to create a platform where I could share my idea's of fashion. But someway, somehow, the blog changed into something more personal. It's now my online diary of idea's and goals in general. The Fashion Moodboard is created for everyone who loves fashion, photography, traveling and cooking or at least one of those subjects.
So what about me?
My name is Shalane and I was born in The Netherlands in 1989. The Netherlands is just a small country in the European Union with Germany on one side and Belgium and Luxembourg on the other side. But when I mention Amsterdam, you all know it, right? Anyway, I live together with my mum in a small village just above Amsterdam. I have lived there most of the time, with little breaks in Hoofddorp and Haarlem but moved back in recently after realizing it was not yet time to live on my own.
When it comes to education, I might not be the perfect role model. I dropped out of school at the early age of 15 in the 4th year of Senior General Secondary Education (HAVO). Since it's not legally possible to completely drop out of school at that age, I was forced to work fulltime till I turned 16 and could start at a school for hotel and catering (Vocational Education/MBO). I worked as a waitress for two years and dropped out of school after 1 year again, because the hotel industry turned out to be not my thing. In the following years I worked as a cashier, in a clothing store and as a fundraiser for charity projects. But I was getting older and still had no education whatsoever. So I had to think about my goals and decided that a 9 to 5 lifestyle is just not my thing. I knew however that I loved to serve people and that I loved airplanes, and so I decided to start with a vocational education 'aviation services' (luchtvaartdienstverlening) at Amsterdam Airport college at the age of 18.
I graduated at the age of 21 and my airline hired me 6 months later. Nowadays I fly fulltime for a well-known Dutch airline with a 5 year contract. My destinations are all in the european union and I absolutely love my job and am pleased with my life as it is right now. I always bring my camera with me (a canon 1000D with a 18-55 and 50mm f/1.8 lens) and love to write about all the pretty things I see. Fashion is still a big part of my life, but there are more important things to write about and that's exactly what I do.
So, here I write about my little (and extraordinary) world. I'm determined to do everything with love and make the most out of it. This is the platform where I share my loveable things, outfits, european adventures and crazy thoughts with you. And if you want to tell me I should join the real world; I can tell you upfront it's pretty good down here.
