You maybe remember that we went to Thailand in november 2014. I already showed you Bangkok and I finally had some time to make my other posts about our holiday. After a short night in our hotel and just recovered from our jetlag, we departed in the late morning with AirAsia to Krabi. From Krabi we took the taxi to Aonang, where we booked a hotel for two nights. Upon arrival it rained cats and dogs. Anyway, after checking in and grabbing some thai lunch we hopped on our motorbike to discover Aonang.
Eind oktober vertrokken mijn vriend en ik op onze vierde grote vakantie (thailand, zuid afrika en zuid-oost azië gingen al voor) naar Thailand! Dit maal hadden we twee weken de tijd en besloten we, gezien ons hectische leven, iets relaxter te doen dan onze vorige vakanties. Meer tijd op een bestemming dus! Na een soepele vlucht van 10,5 uur kwamen we aan in Bangkok. We besloten opnieuw in te checken in Prom Ratchada hotel in Bangkok. Dit hotel kenden we al van vorig jaar en was ons opzich best prima bevallen; zeker gezien de prijs van slechts 27 euro per nacht inclusief ontbijt. Helaas konden we niet direct inchecken bij aankomst, onze kamer zou pas om 14 uur klaar zijn, wat betekende dat wij nog zo'n 3 uur lang onszelf moesten vermaken. En dat lieve mensen, is best lastig met een gigantische jetlag. Net als vorig jaar besloten we maar weer naar Bangkok te gaan met de metro en wat rond te wandelen. En net als vorig jaar was dit geen succes. Bangkok is zo gigantisch groot en de weg is behoorlijk lastig te vinden, zeker als je moe bent. Na een uur als kippen zonder kop te hebben rondgedwaald bij de rivier besloten we terug te keren naar het hotel en maar te lunchen bij een tentje in een dichtbij gelegen shoppingcenter. Alles wel, eindelijk konden we de kamer in en na 2 uurtjes slapen was het opnieuw tijd om de stad in te gaan. Dit keer met een doel; op naar khao san road, de ultieme toeristenplek. Dit keer namen we dan ook heel wijs de taxi wat eigenlijk best relaxed was. We aten wat simpels in een restaurantje en zo was onze dag in Bangkok ook weer om. We zijn beide niet een heel groot fan van Bangkok, dus mochten jullie nog tips hebben voor ons om het makkelijker te maken daar, kom maar door!

On the 25th of october my boyfriend and I went on our fourth big holiday (We've already been to Thailand, South Afrika en South East Asia) to Thailand! This time we had two weeks and since we have had a pretty hectic life the past couple of months, we decided to take things easy. More time at one destination! After a good flight of 10,5 hours we landed in Bangkok. We decided to spend the night in a hotel where we've been before, Prom Ratchada. This hotel is pretty good and only 27 euros a night, cheap! Unfortunately we couldn't check in apon arrival, we had to wait until 2PM since our room was not yet ready. This meant that we had to wait for 3 more hours, which is pretty long if you have a huge jetlag. So just like last year we decided to go into the citycenter of Bangkok, and just like last year this wasn't the best idea. When you have a jetlag and you're so tired, it's really difficult to find your way in such a gigantic city. So we strolled around for an hour, got grumpy and decided to go back to the hotel to have lunch in a simpel restaurant nearby the hotel. So at 2PM we could check into our hotel and finally went to sleep for about 2 hours. After that it was time to go back into the citycenter (this time by taxi, so much easier) to the famous and touristic Khao San Road. We went to a nice little restaurant and had some good food. We're both not the biggest fan of Bangkok, so if you have any tips to make life easier in Bangkok, please do share!
Daar is hij dan, het vijfde en laatste deel van Langkawi met voornamelijk outfits en de laatste strand foto's. Langkawi is prachtig, het is groot, er is veel te doen en er valt ook een hoop regen. Op de dagen met zon is het er prachtig, op de natte dagen iets minder. Maar we hebben er genoten, een heerlijke tijd gehad en zoveel moois gezien! De apen, de zee-arenden, de arabische paarden, watervallen, prachtige stranden, de jungle, de natuurlijk, de geweldige resorts en het drukke pantai chenang. Zijn jullie er wel eens geweest?

Here it is; the fifth and final part of Langkawi with mainly outfit photos and pictures from the beach. Langkawi is beautiful: it's big, there's plenty of stuff to do and there is also a lot of rain. During the days with sunshine the island is pretty much perfect, on the rainy days not so. But we enjoyed it so much, we had the best time and saw so many amazing things! The monkeys, the eagles, the arabian horses, waterfalls, beautiful beaches, the jungle, amazing resorts and the crowded pantai chenang. Have you already been to Langkawi?
In mijn vorige Langkawi post vertelde ik jullie al over de manege en fokkerij met Arabische paarden, "Island Horses" vlakbij de Seven Wells. We maakten een afspraak voor mij voor de volgende dag, om een strandrit te maken. Gelukkig zat het weer opnieuw mee; het was een prachtige zonnige dag! En ik kon mijn geluk niet op om na zoveel jaar weer te mogen paardrijden, en dan ook nog op het strand! Als jullie al een tijdje meelezen op mijn blog weten jullie misschien wel dat ik vroeger heel lang een eigen arabische merrie heb gehad, en dat ik heel erg van paarden hou. Dus een strandrit maken op een subtropisch eiland op een prachtige arabische merrie was een droom die uitkwam! Na een korte tanning sessie op het strand en een kleine lunch bij onze favoriete Nasi Kendar Tomato was het dan eindelijk tijd om naar de stallen te gaan!

In the previous Langkawi post I already told you about the Arabian Horse Farm, "Island Horses" we found on the island while going to the Seven Wells. We made an appointment for the next day for me, to ride on the beach. The weather was beautiful again, thank goodness and I was really excited to go horsebackriding after so many years. If you have been reading my blog for a long time, you might know that I used to own an arabian horse and that I really love horses. So riding an arabian horse during my holiday was like a dream coming true! In the morning we had a quick tanning session on the beach of Pantai Chenang and after a quick lunch at our favorite Nasi Kendar Tomato we headed to the farm.

Na flink wat regen was het eindelijk tijd voor een dag van strak blauwe lucht en heerlijk felle zon. Langkawi, je bent ZOVEEL mooier als het zonnetje schijnt! We moesten snel ontbijten en onze spullen pakken want we vertrokken voor 1 nachtje naar een ander hotel, dit omdat ons oude hotel (courtyard langkawi) die nacht vol zat. We verbleven in 'the box chalet' waar we slechts 22 euro voor betaalden. Het was dan ook wel heel simpel maar prima voor een nachtje.

After two days where it was raining cats and dogs it was finally time for the weather to change into something way more beautiful; blue skies and lots of sunshine! And oh my, Langkawi you're so much more beautiful when the sun shines! We had to take a quick breakfast and pack our belongings because for one night we had to move to another hotel: 'the box chalet'. Since our normal hotel, 'courtyard langkawi' was completely full for this night we had to change. The box hotel is pretty cheap, only 22 euros for a night. It was simple but good.

Na drie nachten in Siem Reap en de tempels van Angkor Wat, Cambodja, was het tijd om verder te gaan met onze Zuid Oost Azië trip. We vlogen vanaf de luchthaven van Siem Reap met Air Asia naar Kuala Lumpur, om enkele uren later door te vliegen naar het westelijk gelegen eiland Langkawi. Het bleek schoolvakantie te zijn in Maleisië, dus ons vliegtuig was afgeladen vol met schreeuwende en krijsende kinderen. Anway, eenmaal aangekomen op het eiland pakten we de taxi naar ons hotel; Courtyard Langkawi. Simpel, degelijk en voor wat wij wilden het goedkoopst. Maleisië is duur, laat ik dat voorop stellen, Langkawi zeker. Dubbel zo duur als Thailand. Maargoed, het hotel lag prima bij het grote strand van Pantai Chenang. We regelden ook direct een brommer voor de komende 6 dagen.

After three nights in Siemreap and the temples of Angkor Wat, Cambodia, it was time to continue with our South East Asia trip. We flew from Siem Riep with Airasia to Kuala Lumpur and after a few hours on KLIA we continued to the island Langkawi. Apparently it was bank holiday in Malaysia since our flight was very crowded with screaming kids, boo! Anway, upon arrival we arranged a cab to our hotel; Courtyard Langkawi. It was simple, basic and for our 'needs' it was the cheapest hotel we could find. It was just fine. Keep in mind; Malaysia can be very expensive, and Langkawi sure is! It will be almost twice as expensive as Thailand. The location of our hotel was fine; it was close to Pantai Chenang, Langkawi's most beautiful and most crowded beach. We also arranged a motorbike for the next 6 days.
Aangezien we in totaal drie nachten verbleven in Memoire D'Angkor in Siem Reap, hadden we nog een dag om Angkor Wat te bezoeken. Dit keer besloten we om de 'grote' circel te doen, met dezelfde tuktuk chauffeur. We gingen ietsje sneller langs de tempels, maar het was nog steeds even prachtig. Nu ook wat andere, kleinere tempels gezien. Het was trouwens ook echt bloed maar dan ook bloedheet deze dag. Net als de dag ervoor. Rond een uur of 1 waren we terug in het hotel en na een lekkere lunch zijn we bij het zwembad gaan liggen. Helaas was dat niet zo'n succes, ik werd lekgeprikt. Ik had wel tien muggenbulten! In de avond zijn we lekker naar pubstreet geweest in Siem Reap, waar de biertjes slechts 0,50 eurocent kosten! Koopje!

Since we stayed three nights in Memoire D'Angkor in Siem Reap, we had one day left to visit Angkor Wat. This time we decided to do the 'big circle' with the same tuktuk driver. We speeded things up a little bit, but it was still all very beautiful. We've also seen some smaller temples. It was really bloody hot that day, just like the day before. Anyway, we came back in the hotel around 1PM and after a quick lunch we went to the swimmingpool. Unfortunately it was not a huge succes, there were lots of mosquitoes. I got bitten over 10 times! Anyway, in the afternoon we went to pubstreet in Siem Reap where the beers were only 0,50 eurocent each! Cheap!
Op 25 mei vertrokken we vanuit Luang Prabang met het vliegtuig (96 euro p.p., vietnam airlines) naar Siem Reap in Cambodja. Bij aankomst op de luchthaven in Siem Reap werden we super luxe opgehaald door iemand van ons hotel, Memoire D'Angkor. En wat een fantastisch hotel was dat, we kregen zelfs een upgrade naar een luxe suite! Het was ook ons eerste hotel met zwembad, waar we dankbaar gebruik van hebben gemaakt. De service standaard in ons hotel lag hoog, ze deden werkelijk alles voor ons en iedereen in het hotel probeerde een leuk praatje met ons te maken. Gezien het feit dat we redelijk laat aankwamen besloten we direct op zoek te gaan naar een leuk restaurant. Via tripadvisor vonden we het braziliaanse restaurant Gigi's Brasil, waar ik nog een klein dansje deed met de eigenaresse. Kijk snel verder voor meer verhalen van Angkor Wat!

On may 25th we departed from Luang Prabang by plane (96 euro p.p., vietnam airlines) to Siem Reap in Cambodia. Upon arrival at the airport of Siem Reap we got a nice suprise with a luxurious pickup from our hotel, Memoire D'Angkor. It really is a beautiful hotel; we even got a nice upgrade to a luxurious suite! It was also the first hotel with a swimmingpool, which we took advantage of. The service in this hotel and as well the country is pretty high. In our hotel every employee tried some small talking with us and they were all so friendly! Since we arrived late in the afternoon we almost directly headed to a restaurant. We found a nice brasilian restaurant, Gigi's Brasil on tripadvisor and had a great evening out. Laat me je meenemen door de straten van Florence, Italië. Een prachtige stad, vaak overbevolkt door toeristen maar op een prachtige nazomerdag als deze viel het nog wel mee. Dankzij mijn werk als stewardess vlieg ik heel europa door en kom ik in de mooiste steden. Standaard in mijn trolley zit mijn camera, welke ik trouw meesleep naar elke nachtstop. Het was een heerlijke dag, we kwamen rond het middaguur aan en besloten eerst wat te gaan lunchen. Gezien de warmte die dag besloot ik voor een 'lichte' pasta te gaan; raw spaghetti met een heerlijke guacamole saus (vreemd maar lekker!). Na de lunch struinden we door de smalle straten, langs de grote toeristische attracties en dronken we een lekker glaasje fris in een lokaal tentje. Al met al een heerlijke dag in het prachtige Florence. Zijn jullie er wel eens geweest?

Let me take you with me during a nightstop in Florence, Italy. A beautiful city, most of the time overcrowded by tourists but on a nice late summer day it was pretty do-able. Thanks to my job as a flight attendant I am able to see the most beautiful cities in Europe. One of my main items in my carry on luggage is my camera, which I bring along during every nightstop. It was a beautiful day; we arrived around noon and had some lunch first. Since it was pretty warm that day I went for a 'raw pasta' with a delicious guacamole sauce (it sounds strange but it was damn tasty!). After lunch we wandered around in the small streets, along the main tourist sights and we had a delicious soda in a local restaurant. It was a good, good day in beautiful Florence. Have you ever been there?

We hebben inmiddels al heel wat mooie watervallen mogen zien, maar de Kuang Si waterfalls waren echt waar prachtig! De meerdere trappen, het helderblauwe water, de zwempoels; alles was mooi! We hadden bijna alle dagen in Luang Prabang een scooter gehuurd en dat was hard nodig: de rit naar de Kuang Si falls duurde ongeveer 40 minuten. Die ging gelukkig wel door een adembenemend mooi landschap.
De Kuang Si falls hebben meerdere trappen welke allemaal uiteindelijk beginnen bij de grote waterval. Het water is onbeschrijvelijk blauw en bij sommige poels kan je zelfs zwemmen. Wij waren er gelukkig vroeg op de dag waardoor het nog redelijk rustig was bij de meeste van de zwempoels. Eenmaal aangekomen bij de grote waterval zijn we natuurlijk ook naar boven geklommen, prachtig uitzicht!

We already have seen so many beautiful waterfalls, but the Kuang Si falls are almost on top of our list when it comes to beauty. You have several steps, extremely blue and clear water and swimmingpools. Everything is beautiful. During almost all our days in Luang Prabang we rented a motorbike and that was necessary; the drive to the kuang si falls took us about 40 minutes. But luckily the ride itself was beautiful as well.
As I already mentioned the Kuang Si falls have several steps and all end (or begin ofcourse) at the big waterfall. The water is breathtaking beautiful; very blue and clear. You can swim at several pools and since we arrived early in the day, it wasn't very crowded. We also climb up at the big waterfall, the view was stunning!
Na twee dagen Vang Vieng was het tijd om door te gaan naar een bestemming waar ik ontzettend naar heb uitgekeken: Luang Prabang. Opnieuw voorbereid op een helse rit in de minivan viel de 4,5 uur dwars door de bergen eigenlijk nog wel mee (misschien ook omdat primatour je lekker slaperig maakt). En daar waren we dan, in het paradijsje. De minibus dropte ons gelukkig niet al te ver van ons nieuwe hotel, Maison Dalabua. En gelukkig maar, want onze backpack (vooral die van mij) was niet heel erg licht. Maison Dalabua is werkelijk waar een paradijs opzich: het heeft een prachtige grote vijver en heerlijk ruime kamers. After two days in Vang Vieng it was time to continue to a destination which I was really looking forward to: Luang Prabang. We were prepared for yet another minivan ride from hell, but after 4,5 hours through the mountains it was actually not that bad (maybe the primatour/anti sickniss pills helped, it made us really sleepy). And so we arrived in paradise. The minivan dropped us not too far away from our new hotel, Maison Dalabua. And that was good, because our backpacks (especially mine) were really heavy. Maison Dalabua is a little paradise itself, it has a beautiful big pond and pretty spacious rooms. Well enough chitchat, let's continue to the pictures of the first two days in Luang Prabang :)
Het is eindelijk weer tijd voor een reisverslag. Dit keer Vang Vieng in Laos. Vanuit Kuala Lumpur hebben we met Airasia de vroege ochtendvlucht genomen naar Vientiane, de hoofdstad van Laos. Eenmaal geland zijn we direct op zoek gegaan naar de bus wat eigenlijk nog best moeilijk bleek te zijn. Onze taxi chauffeur wilde ons alleen bij het minivan bus station afzetten waar we dus met de minivan naar Vang Vieng moesten. Toen we eenmaal zaten hebben we nog dik een uur moeten wachten tot het busje volgepropt was en we eindelijk konden beginnen aan de 4 uur durende rit van hel (want: slechte wegen in Laos) naar Vang Vieng. It's finally time for another travel post from our South East Asia trip two months ago. This time it's about our second destination, Vang Vieng in Laos. From Kuala Lumpur we took the early morning flight with Airasia to Vientiane, the capital of Laos. After landing we directly got on a taxi which took us to the minivan station where we had to take a minivan to Vang Vieng. After getting in a minivan we had to wait over an hour until the van was completely full (too full) before we could commence our 4 hour long ride to Vang Vieng. It was a ride from hell since the roads are really bad in Laos, lots of bumps and holes. Make sure to click the read more button to see our pictures and story!
Hi! First of all my sincere apologies for my temporarely absence from the blog. I know I told to write a post once every two days but I got sick last week and couldn't do anything but sitting on the couch. Luckily I'm feeling much better right now and I'm already back to work, right now blogging from Linkoping.
Anwyway, here is the story and the photos from the very first stop of our holiday: Kuala Lumpur. While Kul was not included in our original plan we flew to this airport because the Bangkok flight was completely full. And since the KUL flight was way earlier than the Bangkok flight (early in the morning versus late at night) Pim (my boyfriend) and I were forced to hurry up bigtime.
But everything went well and 12,5 hours later we finally arrived in the early morning in Kuala Lumpur. We didn't had the time to book a hotel in advance so shortly after our arrival we sat down at the airport to book ourselves a hotel: The Swiss Inn hotel in China Town, which turned out to be the perfect hotel which was also very cheap (30 euros a night). We stayed in Kuala Lumpur for two days and you can read the entire story below!

Even een kleine update uit het paradijs. Ik kon het niet laten om jullie een paar foto's te laten zien van mijn instagram account (@shalane89). Eigenlijk is ons hele plan niet meer wat het is geweest. Zo zijn we niet naar Bangkok gevlogen (vlucht was vol) maar naar Kuala Lumpur. Daar zijn we allereerst twee dagen gebleven in een leuk hotel midden in China Town. Vervolgens zijn we met het vliegtuig naar Vientiane (Laos) gegaan waar we direct een minivan hebben gepakt richting Vang Vieng. Helse rit door de bergen maar het meer dan waard. Na twee dagen in Vang Vieng zijn we doorgegaan naar Luang Prabang (opnieuw met de minivan, opnieuw veel te lang door de bergen) en daar zitten we nu eigenlijk nog steeds in een heerlijk hotel.
Morgen pakken we weer het vliegtuig, dit keer naar Siem Reap (Cambodja). We blijven daar drie dagen om alle tempels van Ankor Watt te zien. We hebben al een supermooi hotelletje geboekt. Na Siem Reap hadden we het originele plan om de bus te pakken naar Thailand en lekker te chillen op Koh Chang voordat we terug zouden vliegen naar Nederland (via Bangkok). Maar gezien de huidige situatie in Thailand hebben we besloten om vanuit Siem Reap terug te vliegen naar Kuala Lumpur en daar het vliegtuig naar Langkawi te pakken (lekker goedkoop met Airasia). Vervolgens vliegen we ook weer terug naar huis via Kuala Lumpur. Plannen genoeg, heb er veel zin in! Zie jullie weer na de vakantie :)

Just a short update from paradise. I had to show you some pictures from my instagram account (@shalane89). Actually our original plan turned out to be completely different. We didn't flew to Bangkok (the flight was full) but instead we took the plane to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). We stayed there for two lovely nights in the middle of China town. Afterwards we took the plane to Vientiane (Laos) where we got on a minivan to Vang Vieng. It was one hell of a ride all the way through the mountains but it was definitely worth it. After two days in Vang Vieng we took another minivan to Luang Prabang. Same story, hell of a ride through the mountains. We're still in Luang Prabang right now and we both loving it.
Tomorrow we'll take another airplane to Siem reap (Cambodia) to check out the tempels of Ankor Watt. We already booked ourselves a lovely hotel. In our original plan we wanted to go from Siem reap to Koh Chang (Thailand) and fly back home via Bangkok. But since the ongoing situation in Thailand we decided to skip it and go back to Malaysia instead. We're now going to chill a the beaches of Langkawi before we fly home via Kuala Lumpur. More than enough plans, we're both looking forward to it! See you after my holiday :)

Vandaag, over slechts een paar uur, pakken mijn vriend en ik het vliegtuig richting Bangkok of Kuala Lumpur, ligt eraan op welke vlucht we meekomen. We gaan drie weken rondreizen en op ons lijstje staan Laos, Cambodja en Thailand. Aangezien we vorig jaar al hebben rondgereist door Thailand zullen we dit jaar slechts alleen naar het strand gaan, omdat we het meest van het binnenland al hebben gezien.
Mijn vriend en ik hebben erg lang uitgekeken naar deze vakantie aangezien we al maanden achter elkaar hard hebben gewerkt. Daarom heb ik ook besloten om vanuit onze vakantie NIET te gaan bloggen. Maar ik laat jullie uiteraard niet helemaal alleen achter; ik heb flink wat posts gemaakt welke om de twee dagen online zullen komen, zodat jullie je niet hoeven te vervelen terwijl ik op vakantie ben. En uiteraard zal ik na mijn vakantie meer dan genoeg posts eraan wijden en wellicht ga ik zelfs vloggen.

Today, in just a few hours from now, the boy and I are taking the plane to Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur. We'll be traveling for three weeks and on our list will be Laos, Cambodja and Thailand. Since we've already been to Thailand last year, we decided to only go to the Thai beaches this year, as we've seen most of the countryside.
Since the boy and I really need this holiday after months of working really hard, I decided NOT to blog whilst being abroad. But ofcourse I can't leave you guys without anything; every two days there will be a brand new post online so you won't get bored while I'm having fun. And ofcourse, once I'm back I'll show you everything from our holiday, and maybe I'll vlog a bit as well :)
Een aantal dagen geleden had ik een heerlijke nachtstop in Alesund (ik ben stewardess). Het weer was prachtig; strakblauwe lucht en nog best aan de warme kant ook met zo'n 16 graden. Hoewel we redelijk laat op de dag aankwamen, zo rond 17.00 uur, besloten we toch nog even naar buiten te gaan.
We beklommen de bekende berg in Alesund met het panoramische uitzicht over de stad. Het was een behoorlijk klim maar alles meer dan waard. Helaas was het nog wel te vroeg voor de zonsondergang, maar het uitzicht was alsnog prachtig. Na ons klim avontuur daalden we weer af voor een heerlijk diner in de stad. Vervolgens liepen we terug naar het hotel waar we de zon in de zee hebben zien zakken. Alesund is echt te gek! Zijn jullie er wel eens geweest?

A few dags ago I had a wonderful layover in Alesund (I'm a flight attendant). The weather was amazing: blue skies and pretty warm as well, with a nice 16 degrees celcius. We arrived a bit late (around 17.00pm), but we went outside anyway.
We climbed up the mountain in Alesund with a panoramic view over the citycenter. It was quite a challenge, climbing up, but most definitely worth it! Unfortunately it was still too early for the sunset, but the view was beyond amazing. After our adventure we walked down to the citycenter for a lovely diner. Afterwards while walking back to the hotel we saw the sunset and it was breathtaking. Have you already been to Alesund?
Een tijdje geleden had ik een heerlijk lange nachtstop in Nice (ik werk als stewardess). Na een leuke avond in Wayne's bar besloten we de volgende dag de trein te pakken naar Beaulieu sur Mer en vervolgens terug te wandelen naar Villefrance sur Mer. Stiekem ben ik echt heel erg gek op de Cote D'Azur, heerlijk en mooi al die kleine baaitjes en luxe huizen. Ik kijk mijn ogen uit!
Deze foto's heb ik allemaal met mijn telefoon gemaakt, een samsung galaxy S4. Ik neem helaas niet zo vaak mijn spiegelreflex meer mee, het is te zwaar, maar de camera van mijn telefoon voldoet meer dan prima. Zijn jullie hier wel eens geweest?

A while ago I had an amazing layover/nightstop in Nice (I'm working as a flight attendant). After a fun night out in Wayne's bar we decided to wake up early and took the train to Beaulieu sur Mer. We walked all the way back to Villefrance Sur Mer. I must admit that I truly love the Cote D'Azur, the small beaches and luxurious houses are so beautiful.
These photos are all from my phone, a samsung galaxy s4. Unfortunately my DSRL is very heavy to take with my while flying, but I am very pleased with the photos from my phone.

Trondheim is een van mijn meest favoriete bestemmingen (ik werk als stewardess). En onlangs heeft het bedrijf ons verhuisd naar een nieuw hotel vlak bij de haven. Mijn kamer had werkelijk een fantastisch uitzicht op de fjorden en de gym die het hotel heeft is echt gigantisch!
Noorwegen blijft mooi, de natuur is zo prachtig en de mensen zo lief! Iedereen spreekt goed engels en daarnaast hebben de meeste echt wel gevoel voor stijl! Dus ik vind het altijd heerlijk om even een dag in dat prachtige land te zijn. Na twee uur in de gym te zijn geweest ben ik nog even tijdens zonsondergang een rondje buiten wezen wandelen. Wat een prachtig helder weer, te gek voor foto's! Ik heb namelijk een nieuwe telefoon, een samsung galaxy s4 en zoals je begrijpt moest de camera even uitgetest worden. Ik hoop dat je de foto's mooi vind :)

Trondheim is one of my favorite destinations (I work as a flight attendant). Recently our company has changed our hotel to one which is close to the harbor. My room had the most magnificent view over the fjords and the gym in the hotel is gigantic! It's huuuuuge!
Norway is such a beautiful country: the nature is amazing and the people are very sweet. I think all the people speak english very well and besides that the norwegians do have a great sense of style! So I always love to nightstop in Norway. After two hours in the gym I went outside to shoot pictures during the sunset. The weather was beautiful: bright blue skies, amazing for photos! I have a new phone, a samsung galaxy s4 and as you may understand I wanted to test the camera. So I hope you enjoy the pictures :-)

Het wordt eindelijk mooi en zonnig weer in Nederland, heerlijk! Toen het weer vorige week wat minder was in Nederland, had ik het geluk om te vliegen naar Nice (ik werk als stewardess) en vanuit daar heb ik met de crew de trein gepakt naar het prachtige Monaco!
De treinreis duurde slechts 10 tot 15 minuten maar je stapt direct uit in een andere wereld. Prachtige, giga dure boten, mooie appartementen en een gaaf casino: Monaco heeft het allemaal. Het is werkelijk waar lifestyle of the rich and famous, een sprookjeswereld op zich! Bijna alles lijkt te mooi om waar te zijn en vooral heel erg onwerkelijk. Ik zou nooit zoiets kunnen -en willen- betalen. Maar het blijft uiteraard leuk om naar te kijken ;)
We liepen door de bekende formule 1 tunnel, langs de dure boten en we bekeken het casino (van james bond) van dichtbij. Daarnaast zijn we ook nog even naar boven richting het kasteel gelopen om daar te genieten van het prachtige uitzicht. Gotta love the south of france!

Spring has sprung in the Netherlands, love it! But last week, when the skies were grey in the lower lands of Holland, I was lucky enough to have a layover in Nice (I work as a flight attendant). And from there I took the train to the beautiful and surreal Monaco!
It was just a 10 to 15 minute trainride, but as soon as you disembark you're in a completely different world. Beautiful, extremely expensive boats, amazing apartments and a really cool casino: Monaco has it all. It really is the lifestyle of the rich and famous, a fairytale world itself. Too good to be true and especially very surreal and unrealistic. I could and would never afford anything you can find there. But it is a lot of fun to see though!
We walked through the famous 'formula 1' tunnel, along the expensive boats and we absolutely loved the famous casino (from the James bond movie). Besides that we walked up to the castle to enjoy the magnificent view. Gotta love the south of France!

Vorige week stond ik dus reserve. Een keer per 6 weken hebben wij een 5 daagse 'blokreserve' waarbij we 12 uur per dag telefonisch bereikbaar zijn voor het bedrijf. Mochten ze me nodig hebben voor een vlucht, dan dien ik binnen een uur op schiphol te zijn.
De eerste dag heb ik lekker thuis gezeten, maar de tweede dag ben ik aan het eind van de middag gebeld: een 4 daagse trip met nachtstops in Nice, Lyon en Sandefjord Torp. Best veel vluchten, maar ik had redelijk wat tijd op bestemming. Alleen niet in Nice, daar kwam ik 's avonds laat aan en de volgende dag rond half twaalf moest ik alweer vliegen.
Maar ik was al vroeg wakker en ben direct na het ontbijt lekker gaan wandelen door de oude stad van Nice en uiteindelijk naar het strand en het park. Het was een prima ochtend, lekker relaxed om even te wandelen voor een lange werkdag met vier vluchten. Ik had een jurkje mee wat ik een paar weken geleden in de kringloop winkel heb gevonden voor 4 euro. Hij is oorspronkelijk van Warehouse en was precies mijn maat!

Last week I had my so called 'reserve duty'. Once every 6 weeks we have a week (5 days) of standby where the company can call us for a flight for 12 hours a day. In case they need me for a flight, I need to be at the airport within one hour.
The first day of reserve duty was nice and relaxed, no phonecalls whatsoever. But during the second day they called me at the end of the day for a 4 day trip with layovers in Nice, Lyon and Sandefjord Torp. A lot of flights, but there was a little bit of time to relax as well. In Nice I had a very short stop, I arrived very late in the evening and pick up time the next day was 11.30 AM.
I woke up early and went outside after breakfast to wander around in the old city of Nice. I walked towards the beach and back via the beautiful park to the hotel. It was the perfect morning and it's very relaxed to walk for a bit just before a long day at work with 4 flights. Anyway, I'm wearing a dress which I found in the thriftstore a few weeks ago. It was just 4 euros and it's originally from Warehouse and exactly my size! What do you think?
