FLYING: Toulouse

As most of you already know I'm working as a flight attendant and thanks to my job I'm visiting the most awesome places in europe. When I see a layover in Toulouse on my roster I'm always happy since I absolutely love this place. It's great for shopping, wandering around, cycling, picknicks and relaxing. Toulouse has some awesome restaurants too, but unfortunately they all open at 7PM which is a bit late for me since I have to wake up the next morning at 4AM. So I usually have some tourist food (mcdonalds) or a late lunch when I'm in france.

Despite the alltime restaurant opening time problems I enjoy myself to the max. This time I wandered around together with my fellow cabincrew member and a cockpit colleague and we enjoyed our walk in Jardin des Plantes, which is such a beautiful and relaxed parc! Ideal for summer days and picknicks. We also went to the riverside where we had a nice little afternoon wine. After our stroll we sat in a parc close to our and had some lebanese takeaway food. Life is good enroute!

Hi lieve allemaal,

FLYING: Toulouse

Many times I've visited Toulouse but I still discover new and amazing places each time. Today I rented a bike (you can get your velo at so many places in town, it's a bike-heaven!) And the bike makes it so easy to discover the city!

Lucky me, I arrived around 11 o'clock in Toulouse and had the complete afternoon and evening to spend. While the other crew members went to the swimmingpool, I went to a local flea market and enjoyed all the good french things in life. It was bloody hot, 35 degrees centigrade, but the town is so lovely when the skies are blue.

After a couple of hours on the bike, I ended my afternoon at the riverside enjoying the beautiful view. I had diner at Mac Donalds: easy peasy but I love it... And went to bed early! This was by far the best day of my 5 day trip for work. I love Toulouse, and will go back next week! :)

FLYING: Toulouse, Backstage Vintage

Yesterday I felt like Alice in Vintage Wonderland when I discovered this cute vintage store right in the citycenter of Toulouse. The beautiful owner allowed me to take some pictures of this pretty place and her vintage treasures. I was delighted to see a mix of vintage and secondhand high street fashion brands. It's the place to be to dress like a true parisian girl and get matching jewelry, bags and shoes.

Next time I'll definitely bring my wallet to take something back to the Netherlands. I have seen so many beautiful items which I would love to have, but unfortunately this month is not a good month to spend money ;)

But you can, if you like! If you visit Toulouse, Backstage Vintage is definitely a must see on your list. Toulouse has a lot of vintage stores, but this one is by far the best and as soon as you enter the store you're filled with inspiration, that's a promise!

Right now I'm blogging from my hotelroom in Toulouse. Spend all day outside in the freezing cold wandering around. My previous visit to Toulouse must have been over a year ago, and I was really trying to request this nightstop. Not only because I love this city, but also because there was some gossip in the gally (of the airplane, red) that we would change hotels. Thank goodness that didn't happen, we stay in our old hotel right in the citycenter of Toulouse.

The thing I love about Toulouse is that it has amazing shops. Do you know the spanish brand 'Stradivarius'? I was so happy when I found it in Toulouse, and I really love their clothes. But today was not a good day to shop, so I bought nothing and am now back in my warm hotelroom. Time for some sleep, but first... my pictures!

Eventhough the weather wasn't amazing (but hey, the temperature was ok-ish and there was no rain :) ) it was a really good day! In the evening we watched a dutch movie at the co pilots hotelroom, it was a lot of fun! :)

1) Posing at the 'main' square in Toulouse. Strange pose due to funny chineze tourists who were making fun of me (boohoo!)
2) A little square in Toulouse where they have the best cakes!
3) Amazing restaurant
4) We had an amazing late lunch/early diner in this restaurant. They 'grilled' my beef steak in a wooden oven. Delicious! And they have amazing red wines!
5) Capitoleum
6) At the river side where we had another wine.

Had to spend two days in amazing Toulouse. Gosh, I love France! Such an amazing country! Unfortunately the temperatures weren't really great (I almost packed summer dresses only! Thank God I brought some blazers and pants with me!). We went out for two nights and during the day I walked around in the city. Love the river and the bridges! And via Trondheim I'm back in the Netherlands. I'm going away on Thursday again for another 4 days.

It's time for some flying! In a few hours I'll be off to Toulouse, France. Where I spend two days. So if you have any suggestions of places I should definitely visit, let me know!

I also got a new camera. As I mentioned a couple of posts before, my old olympus pocket camera died recently. And since it is not always very comfortable to take the DSRL with me all the time, I bought a new pocket camera. It's an panasonic lumix, with 16mp and 8x optical zoom. It also has a super wide angle lens. This is a picture of myself for which I used the panasonic. With a little bit of help from picasa it turned out pretty nice in my opinion.

Anyway, I'll see you peeps in four days! I'm also nightstopping in trondheim (brrr!)
