In totaal verbleven we drie nachten op Gili Air in Elephant House and Bungalow wat ik in de vorige post niet echt kon aanraden. Wel zijn de Gili's naar mijn mening een superleuke eilanden groep om naartoe te gaan als je de tijd hebt. Het is op redelijke afstand varen vanaf Bali en qua prijs valt het allemaal mee. Vaak kan je dus een compleet pakket kopen wat zowel de heen als de terugreis inhoud inclusief het vervoer van en naar het hotel. Aangezien Gili Air absoluut niet groot is (je wandelt het in een uurtje rond) vonden wij drie nachten meer dan voldoende. Ik heb voor jullie een complete Gili Air guide gemaakt, dus kijk hieronder snel verder voor alle tips!
Na een kort nachtje ging de wekker om 6 uur. Via ons hotel Omah Apik regelden wij het vervoer naar onze volgende bestemming: Gili Air. Na een snel ontbijtje was het dan wachten op onze pickup, welke om 8 uur ons kwam ophalen. Per minivan werden wij naar de haven gebracht van Padang Bai, dit duurde vanaf Ubud ongeveer een uurtje. Eenmaal in Padang Bai was het wachten in de brandende zon om in de volle boot te stappen. De boot was opzich best oke met voldoende zitplaatsen en de tickets waren 350.000 ruphia (ongeveer 23 euro), deze prijs was inclusief de taxirit van ons hotel naar Padang Bai en tevens ook voor onze terugtocht naar Bali. Best goedkoop.
Ik ben nogal snel reisziek (wagenziek, zeeziek, luchtziek noem maar op) en was dan ook weer erg blij dat ik primatour in mijn tas had gestopt. Dit was dan ook hard nodig tijdens deze boottocht die over een best ruwe zee ging. Na een uurtje varen kwamen wij aan op Gili Trawangan, niet onze bestemming en dus moesten we op zoek naar een kleinere boot die ons naar Gili Air zou brengen. Gelukkig ging dit best rap en 80.000rph armer en 10 minuten later kwamen wij aan op Gili Air, een klein paradijsje wat vlak bij Lombok ligt. Kijken jullie mee?
Het was vroeg opstaan op onze tweede dag in Ubud, wij wilden namelijk de "campuhan ridge walk" doen en dat kan je het beste in de ochtend doen. We vonden deze activiteit in Ubud op tripadvisor en waren blij dat we even konden ontsnappen uit de drukte. Campuhan Ridge trail begint voor de brug bij het Ibah Resort en is ongeveer 4 tot 5km. Rusten kan je bij het Karsa Spa café en spa met prachtig uitzicht over de rijstvelden. De hike zelf is mooi; eindelijk in een rustig gebied over een heuvel op een goed betegeld pad. Vroeg gaan is aan te raden anders brand de zon vol en er zijn weinig plekken met schaduw. Aan het begin van het pad vind je ook een prachtige tempel die het zeker waard is om te bezoeken. Remember my citytrip to Rome part I? Maybe you've also already seen part II. So here it is, the final part, part III. We stayed for 3 nights in Rome and during our last day we decided to go inside the St. Peters chapel. The queue was really long but it turned out that the actual waiting in the line wasn't so bad. First things first so we climbed five hundred something steps all the way up to the St. Peters chapel. The view was absolutely breathtaking, just like all the steps going up, which was kind of a workout.
Afterwards we went inside the church which was absolutely amazing to see. Such a huge, beautiful church! After our visit we wandered around in the city for quite some time. We went up to the river, to a fountain and also back to the pantheon. We had the evening flight back to Amsterdam so we definitely made the most out of our last day in beautiful Rome. What, even more Koh Lanta? Yes, I'm not done! Not yet! We did spend a lot of time on this beautiful island. So after this post I have one more for you but for now, Koh Lanta part V. The weather can be quite crazy sometimes, heavy rainshowers can come up very easily but dissapear quickly as well. This day we had a very heavy rainshower, and it was all beautiful when you see a dark sky on one side and you see bright blue colors on the other. Oh well, hope you just enjoy the photos and the outfits! :)
Since we had two days in Aonang, of which we spend the afternoon in Railay, I still have some photos from the evening back in Aonang for you guys. We drove with our motorbike to a deserted beach to watch the sunset, ofcourse with an icecold beer on our sides. I included some outfit photos, because eventhough I'm on holiday, I love fashion. Personally I really loved Aonang and would surely recommend it if you're in Thailand. But do rent a motorbike and go to other beaches than the usual big one.
