Video: Christmas lookbook 2014

I made a new video and I hope you enjoy :) Merry christmas everyone!

Personal: Christmas 2013

Hopefully never too late for some good old christmas family pictures! It's two weeks ago, but since I haven't blogged in that period I decided to show you my christmas today.

Let me first explain that we have 2 days of christmas in the Netherlands. Ofcourse, as like in any other country we celebrate the 1st day of christmas on the 25th and afterwards we have -ofcourse- the 2nd day of christmas (your boxing day). It's usually the day we spend at our 'other' family, the inlaws. So I went to my boyfriends family in Soest for the first day of christmas and we enjoyed an afternoon filled with games, wines, food and lots of fun.

We had a lovely diner which was very well prepared by my boyfriend and his family. He's a real good cook! There was so much food, I looked pregnant after the 4 courses! Haha! We spend the night at his mothers house and drove to my mom the next day.

So at my mum's we had a 'gourmet' diner, basically: you prepare your own meat. It was delicous and again lots of fun. I gained at least 2kgs these past two days! Haha! But it's so worth it! It's good to spend the days with the ones you love! Anyway, I hope you like all the pictures! I hope your christmas was a lot of fun too! How did you spend your christmas days?

Merry Christmas!

Hi dear all,

I would like to wish you all a very merry christmas, just a couple of hours before all the fun and food begins!

This will be the last post of 2013, as I'm starting again in 2014. I have been and still am very busy. Work, studying and spending time with the ones I love are making it impossible to make new posts.

Looking back on 2013, I'm very pleased to say that it has been an amazing year. I became a senior cabin attendant and am now the responsible cabin attendant for the flight. That was a very good promotion. On the first of april 2013, my boyfriend offically asked me to be his girlfriend. And of course I said yes ;) We went to Thailand and to South Africa this year, besides that we did some amazing trips to Bruges, Lyon and last week we flew together! Besides that, my blog has grown a lot! I went to amazing events thanks to the fashion moodboard and met so many lovely people!

I want to thank each and everyone of you for your support, love and kind words. I can't wait to see you all again in 2014 and I hope you will still be here around in the blogosphere. I hope you spend christmas with the ones you love and I wish you all the best for 2014.

Lots of love,

Shalane

FLYING: Kerst in Bologna

From -10 degrees in Trondheim to a foggy +5 degrees in Bologna. We arrived around noon in Bologna on the 25th of december, first day of christmas. I made a reservation in a well known italian restaurant Vicolo Colombina for a delicious christmas lunch.

It was a 20 minute walk from the hotel to the restaurant, and the streets were basically empty. No cars or busses, just a few people strolling around. The main square in Bologna (with a special fountain, check my pictures below) was a bit more crowded. There was a huge christmas tree, but it was not a very beautiful one.

For the lunch we started with some italian goodies: parma ham, parmazan cheese and other delicious meats to share. My first course was the famous 'tagliatella bolognese', from Bologna of course. As a main dish, I had the restaurants special 'christmas' dish: sausages with veggies and mashed potatoes. It was a lot of delicious food, combined with a nice red wine. It was a perfect, relaxed christmas afternoon. We ended the day with a drink in the hotel room, since it was quite cold outside. Perfect christmas, and luckily my crew was amazing! Thanks again guys. This trip will definitely make it to my top 3 list of best trips for work!

FLYING: Trondheim en Röros

Merry christmas everyone! Hope you had an amazing day, with lots of love, food and maybe even some presents? My trip during christmas was a present itself. I started with a day over in Trondheim on the 24th of December. We rented a car (and got a nice upgrade to a more luxurious one) and drove 2,5 hours to the south of Norway for a husky sled tour in Röros. We had only 5 hours of daylight, but it was so magical and amazing, a true once in a lifetime experience.

The husky's were really sweet, we had to put them in front of the sled ourselves, with a little bit of help from the owner. I had my own sled with 4 beautiful dogs. We did a 1,5 hour tour which was beautiful, like breathtaking. But the dogs are very powerful, and so I fell of my sled twice, one time with my face in the snow. Haha. But it was a lot of fun and I will never forget it! With -10 degrees it was really cold, but thank goodness the owner had some nice 'jumpsuits'(?) for us available and some extra hats to borrow.

And afterwards we drove back to Trondheim for a lovely DIY christmas diner. We had to make our own diner, since the hotel was basically empty (we were the only 4 persons in the hotel). They had some microwave food for us, but we prefered something more tasty. ;-) And so we had our own little mini grill with veggies and meat. Ohnomnomnom :)

Christmas greetings

Hello dear readers and new followers!
Do you already have a christmas tree? We recently bought a beautiful fake one and we started decorating yesterday. As I said before, nothing makes me more happy than the christmas vibe, decorating the house and snowy landscapes. Eventhough I can't stand the cold I find it really relaxing to be outside in the snow (if I have my day off ofcourse, not when I need to go by public transport which can't stand the snow either). My little puppy Daisy is also in the christmas mood. She loves snow! So what was your week like?
