Last week I had a very nice trip. I started my week in Alesund, continued to Lyon where I stayed for two nights and ended my trip in Hannover. All my trips had a lot of time on the destination which was very luxurious. (I'm working as a flight attendant) My crew was lovely, the weather was amazing and I decided it was time to go out and about. Both of the days in Lyon we enjoyed a great lunch at one of the many cute squares. Recently they have builded a new cycling tunnel which makes it very easy to enter the citycenter.
On the second day in Lyon my colleague and I cycled to the well known park where we enjoyed the lovely weather. It really was the perfect afternoon, delicious lunch, cycling through town and chilling in the local park. It was super warm that day, 28 degrees. Men I love Lyon.

Remember I told you my boyfriend and I were on a luxurious work trip TOGETHER? So 4 days of flying together? That's pretty amazing! Our last day of the trip was in Lyon, France. It's a place where we both have been many times before, and also two times together as well.
And we both do love Lyon! So many good places to eat and to see! We both enjoy cycling, and since the hotel offers the bikes for free (renting ofcourse) we always go by bike to the city center. I just love cycling and following the river all the way up to the main square (place bellecour).
We spend our day eating, cycling and sightseeing. The sunset was again pretty amazing and I took a lot of pictures during that time of the day. Have you been to Lyon before? And do you like it?
Life as a flight attendant is not always like unicorns and rainbows. While being away from home and visiting beautiful places in europe sounds interesting at first, it can turn against you. Especially when you have persons at home you love and you can't see them for quite some time. My boyfriend is a pilot and we both work for the same airline. Unfortunately it is very difficult to have our days off together. Most of the time when I'm off, he's flying or the other way around.
And the situation was not different this time. But we found a solution! My boyfriend had a day over (24 hour stop) in Lyon while I had my days off at home. So why not join him on his trip as a passenger? It was a lot of fun to see him work (haha) but the best thing was to spend time with him for two precious days!
We both have been to Lyon and wanted to discover something new. While browsing tripadvisor I found a beautiful parc (it was no1 on tripadvisor!) we just had to see! And so, after a 3 course lunch at restaurant Le Bon Bourgeois we cycled to the parc to enjoy the afternoon.
Located in the 6th arrondisement of Lyon there is this beautiful park. In Parc de la Tête d'Or you will find a fantastic zoo and botanical garden named Jardin Zoologique besides the beautiful lake and many other amazing spots this Parc has to offer. The zoo is really big and has a wide variety of animals! This is all for free, so everyone can enjoy it!

I wrote a little love poem about lyon a couple of months ago, and I'm finally back! But men oh men, it was bloody hot, 38 degrees hot. Too hot to be in the hotel pool filled with kids, so I took the bike to the city center and cycled around. It's such a beautiful city, and luckily I got some company from two other crew members.
After a nice carpaccio we cycled back to the hotel and went to bed early. But our day in Lyon was very lovely! Have you every been to Lyon?
I just came back from my last flight, a geneva up and down, and now it's time for three full weeks of annual leave! This past week, I was lucky enough to fly with my boyfriend. He is a first officer and every now and then, luck is on our side and we can fly together! We've already been to Stuttgart (first time we met), Munich, Bologna, Trondheim (twice) and Torp-Sandefjord. And this week we can add Lyon to our list!
We woke up really early to enjoy a quick breakfast and went to town by taxi. Usually the hotel offers us several bicycles, but they got stolen?! Anyway, the taxi was also absolutely fine! We walked around on place bellecour (the main square) and took the tram upstairs to the basilique.
I really like Lyon but it was even more amazing to spend the day together with my boyfriend! Unfortunately I had to be back at the hotel at 12.00PM because of my pick up time (his pick up time to go to the aircraft was at 16.00pm, mine at 12.40pm). And when arriving at the airplane, it turned out to be 'technical' and so I had to wait till 17.30pm before we flew back to Amsterdam. And today I just had to do a Geneva up and down, and now it's time for my holiday!!!!!

Lyon, oh Lyon. While you're still miles away from Paris and are not known as the city of love, you made me fall in love with you. I was delighted to spend Valentine's day in Lyon, but never realised I would be all by myself that particular day. The other crew members were joined by their loved ones and I was the only one who was... alone.
But Lyon, I saw your pretty side: your old town, your beautiful roman theatre, the big basilique and the rhône river running through your citycenter as your veins would do through your heart. I loved your petite salons du thé, the restaurants and the beautiful Place Bellecour, the heart of your soul.
Thank you Lyon, for lighting up my Valentine's Day and for letting a Dutchie fall in love with you, you beautiful French city. I can't wait to see your trees in full bloom and your flower filled fields. Shall we meet again during spring? I'll bring some sunshine, promise...
xoxo
