FLYING: Bologna

Remember I told you about my luxurious 5 day trip for work? I started in Munich and went the next day to one of my all-time favorite destinations: Bologna.

I just LOVE Italy. The people, the fashion, the temperatures, the buildings, the streets and not to forget: the FOOD. Everything is so delicious! Well if you click here you can see my previous Bologna trips. This time I had plenty of time so we decided to have a big lunch in the well-known-amoung-locals restaurant 'Draghoria Della Rossa'.

After a delicious 3 course lunch with the best red wine I've had in a long, long time, we went into the city center and to the park. Enjoying the summer sun and the almost empty city. Since Bologna is a typical student town, most of them go to the beaches during the hottest season of the year. So we basically had Bologna for ourselves.

RECEPT: Vegetarian pasta pesto

Time for another healthy recipe! And this time one of my favorites. This recipe is originally by Amber Alberda, who wrote books about healthy food and this was one of her recipes in het cookbook. It's an easy, very healthy and ofcourse delicious recipe. You don't miss the meat if you're not a vegetarian, and clearly: I'm not a vegetarian.

Let's start with the ingredients:

* Whole weat penne rigate pasta
* Olive oil of good quality
* Garlic (about 4 pieces)
* Feta cheese
* Freshly washed spinach
* 20 pieces of sun dried tomatoes in an oil base
* Pine kernels
* Cherry tomatoes
* Black olives
* Thyme

FLYING: Nice

I can't believe how lucky I am: two days in Nice in a row with plenty of time! So we packed our stuff and hopped on the shuttle bus directly to the beach of Saint Laurent Du Var.

We rented some sunbeds and had a relaxed day in the sun. Eating, drinking, swimming and relaxing: the key words for our day. The food was delicious (yet not very healty) and the drinks were necessary. Every now and then we went into the sea to cool down.

Around sunset we had a great diner at the beach. Again, not healthy but the ambiance was amazing and I truly had one of the best nightstops in a long time! My crew was great and I loved this little place next to Nice. It was also a lot of fun to see our colleagues depart from the runway which was like in front of us.

FLYING: Nice

Two weeks ago I had some kind of mini holiday thanks to work. I usually do 3 to 4 flights a day, but this time I had a wonderfull 5 day trip. The first day I started with 3 flights, the next three days only 2 flights a day and the last day 3 flights again. Which means that I had lots of time in the hotel. Or in my case: at the beach!

You already saw my nightstop in Munich, that was my first stop. The next day I went to Bologna, Italy. We arrived around 12PM in the afternoon! I'll show you Bologna later, but I wanted to show you Nice first, where I spend the last two days in a row. Both of the days we arrived before noon and went directly to the beach. A while ago our company decided that we are going to another hotel. An airport hotel...

When I first heard about us moving to an airport hotel, I felt quite sad. I loved our old hotel in the citycenter of Nice! But after visiting this place, I totally changed my mind. It's just 5 minutes away from the beach (Saint Laurent du Var) which is perfect during the summer. I'm not sure what the winter is going to be like, but we'll just have to figure that out.

Date day

Remember I told you about my upcomming date? It was awesome! We we went to the zoo in Amsterdam. I have my bike stalled in Amsterdam so we cycled to the zoo, walked around for a couple of hours and enjoyed this amazing place right in the city center of Amsterdam. The zoo is called Artis and the last time I was there was at least 12 years ago. But as a grown up, I might like it even more. After the zoo we decided to hang around in the park with some light food and beverages ;) We ended the night in a tapas restaurant where I had the best food in a loooong time!

Anyway, here are my pictures from the zoo and ofcourse my outfit. The temperatures that day were above 30 degrees celcius. It was one of the hottest days in the Netherlands.

FLYING: Landshut

It has been a while since I went to Munich, or Landshut to be precise. It was actually over a year ago. So it was fun to go back, and see this cute little german village during the summer season. As some of you already know, I'm a cabin attendant and usually fly 5 days a week. Which means I spend more days a week in a hotel than at home. Munich is one of our nightstops... Unfortunately we don't spend our nights in a hotel in the city center of Munich. Instead, we hop on a cab for at least 30 mins and nightstop in Landshut.

I personally love Germany. It still feels I'm a little bit at home (Netherlands), but everything is so much cheaper and cleaner! I can't wait till october, when the Octoberfest party's take over Germany. Hopefully I'll be back. But it was alot of fun during this beautiful day to sit outside with a nice cold, white beer.

We had dinner at a local Thai restaurant. It was more or less a takeaway house instead of a restaurant. But the people were so friendly and the food was amazing. And so we decided to grab the nearest table and eat our (very spicy!) tom kha kai(?) soup. De to the licious!

TRAVEL: Thailand, Koh Samui

After two days in the paradise of Koh Tao, it was time to take the catamaran again. After 1,5 hours we arrived in Koh Samui, the biggest Island of the east coast of Thailand. It's well known for partying and the sandy white beaches. Samui is actually alot bigger than Koh Tao and it's also way more crowded.

After we arrived and dropped our belongings in the beautiful beach resort we went on an island tour. Part of the tour: the big buddha, a view point, the father and mother rocks, monkeys, elephant feeding and waterfalls. It was bloody hot that day but the island tour was amazing!

This is just part one of many more parts to come. I spend most of my days at the island of Koh Samui (5 days in total) and this is just an overview of day one.

Bohemian summer by oasap.com

A while ago I joined the fashion blogger program at www.oasap.com and recieved this beautiful mid-length dress. I recieved my package a view days ago and was not quite sure about the length of the dress, what do you think? I personally, after seeing the pictures, love it.

To spice it up I added a cute bohemian waistcoat and made a simple braid in my hair to add a little bit of extra to the look.

What do you think of this dress?

Sunny days

Hi everyone,

It has been a while! At least, for me it is! I've been away for 5 days in a row (munchen, bologna and two times in Nice) and haven't touched a computer at all. But ofcourse as a trustwhorty blogger I made some posts in advance which came online while I was chilling in the sun.

These pictures were made two days ago, when the summer decided to go back to the Netherlands to add some extra days of sunshine. Yesterday I've been to the beach and a barbeque and I watched Magic Mike (the movie!) with my girlfriends. I'm not bothered for a night filled with food and half naked men! Today I went to the park in Amsterdam and tomorrow... I'm going on a date! We're going to the zoo, how original! The weather forcast for tomorrow is pretty good so hopefully we're able to make some awesome monkey and zebra pictures! :)

No make up on

Am I the only one who likes to go bare faced and with my hair all messed up outside? Or am I just not a girly girl? I don't know. Every now and then I love to wear no makeup and put my hair in a silly bun on top of my head. Relaxed and comfortable.

Good thing is, 6 months ago I wasn't able to do this. I suffered from bad acne. But ever since I tried a different pil and different food/beverages (I used to drink 1liter of milk a day, which I totally skipped), the acne cleared up and I'm now confident enough to go outside without makeup. I'm not even wearing mascara. My usual daily make up routine now only consists of mascara and eyeliners. No more foundation, yay!

TRAVEL: Thailand, Koh Tao

Welcome to paradise!

After a 1,5 hour boattrip on a catamaran from Chumpon we arrived early in the morning on the beautiful island of Koh Tao. Koh Tao is located east from Thailand.

When I go back to Thailand, which I'll defenitely do, I would love to go back to Koh Tao to spend there more than 2 days. It's a small island, but I loved the relaxed vibe and the fact it was not very crowded. Just one small street with shops and restaurant and the most beautiful beaches you've ever seen.

We rented a boat the next day and sailed around the island for a couple of hours, with a stop every now and then to discover life under the sea. It was quite a while ago that I snorkeled for the last time. But after a couple of minutes I got used to the breathing equipment and it was a beautiful experience.

We also payed a visit to the Island of Ngang Yuan: two Islands connected by a beautiful white beach.

FLYING: Trondheim

A couple of days ago I had a nightstop with a lot of time in Trondheim. Last time I was there, it was covered in a thick layer of snow. So this was pretty good. The temperature was around 20 degrees celcius, the sun was shining and the best part: it was that one day in the year that there was a food festival in Trondheim. Have I told you already I love food? So this was a great opportunity to try out the best Norwegian salmon and other scandinavian goodies. We had the best time!

Later during the day we took a ferry to a small island. Originally it was a ford, later on it became a monestry and it ended up as a prison? Kind of a strange storyline but the island itself was pretty awesome. We walked around, climed some rocks and chilled on a hill in the sun. I was there with one of my best collegue friends, so that made the day even better!

Around 5.30PM we took the boat back to Trondheim and had dinner at one of the best tapas restaurants: BakGarden. Just a couple of minutes away from our hotel but it was the best food I had in ages. The waiters were extremely friendly and good and the food was beyond delicious!

Beach session

We went to the beach in the morning. We chilled and relaxed and I catched up on some fashion magazines. But it got too crowded so after lunch we went home. Later that day I went to Amsterdam. I own two bikes at this moment, and brought one to Amsterdam. Just because I'm there alot and it's nice to cycle around instead of taking a tram. I had to look for a safe place for quite a while, but stalled it across the central station. Pretty easy, huh?

So this is what I wore. It was around 30 degrees celsius that day. One of the last days of summer in the Netherlands. I bought the playsuit for something like 5 euro in Thailand. Thought it was pretty cute.

FLYING: Bordeaux

Last week I finally went back to Bordeaux. I love it when my work sends me to France: the food, the wine, the weather, the scenery! Just L O V E it. Unfortunately I had the 'early shift' in Bordeaux, which means: arriving early and leaving VERY early the next day (pick up time 4.50AM, eek!). But arriving early was not the case: we landed around 4.00PM so we went straight into the city center.

All my collegues are talking about a well known restaurant: the italian peppone. We decided to give it a try, eventhough it was a bit late for us. The restaurants in France usually open around 7PM, which is quite late if your alarmclock goes at 4AM the next morning. But we went for it and it was more than worth it. When we arrived at 6.50PM, there was already a queu outside, that's always a good sign! The food was delicious. We shared the starter: parmaham with parmazean(?) cheese and garlicbread with bacon. I had an ordinary pizza but it was actually extraordinary, soooo good! If you are in Bordeaux one day: definitely pay a visit to this amazing restaurant. They also have a wine cellar which you see when you go to the toilet. Expensive wines and parmahams everywhere! Such a foodie party!

Don't cry over someone who wouldn't cry over you

Hi dolls,
I've been cycling around for an hour on my normal bike (my vintage precious racingbike is in the shed, waiting for some guaranteed sunshine) and went into town looking for a new makeup bag. Came home with lots of other stuff... and a makeup bag ofcourse. Bigtime failure on my saving-money plan. I bought some sports clothes and underwear, needed it and it was cheap. Oh well.

Tonight I'm out to the movies with one of my friends. Already looking forward to have salted popcorn. I think the main reason I go to the cinema is the popcorn. Plead guilty on this one!

Anyway, click the text below for some more outfitpictures and let me know what you think honeys!

TRAVEL: Thailand, Chumpon

After our 2 nights in Hua Hin we went even more to the south. Via the pineapple fields, the biggest floating market in Thailand and not to forget the monkey temple we arrived in Chumpon around 4PM.

Chumpon is a little fishermans village and is also well known among backpackers. It's the place where you can hop on a ferry (or catamaran, in my case) to go to the islands. It's a very tiny but beautiful place and I was very pleased to stay there for one night.

The next day we had a really early pickup to go to the harbor and catch the catamaran to Koh Tao. More of that in another post, just let me show you (the way to) Chumpon.

Warning: picture overload! :)

Going back in time

We were thinking about a place to shoot the outfit pictures, and all of the sudden my mum came up with this cute little village app. 30 km above Amsterdam. It's called Jisp, and it's also the place where my parents got married 22 years ago. They got divorced 2 years later, but putting that beside, it is an amazing place to get married.

So we went back in time on this beautiful, sunny afternoon and enjoyed and dreamed about living in this cute little village far away from the city chaos. When we were shooting the pictures and I wanted to check them, I discovered I left my memory card at home... But praise the Lord that Steve Jobs invented the Iphone 4 and that the camera quality is pretty perfect.

I hope you enjoy the pretty dutch landscape, and my outfit ofcourse. Let me know what you think honey's.
