Welcome in Trondheim, Norway! I love to go to Sweden and Norway and this was my very first time in Trondheim and I absolutely loved it! It was really cold (only 3 degrees), but there was no wind, no rain (or snow) and clear skies, so with some layering it was actually pretty comfortable outside! We walked around and payed a visit to an amazing church. We also went to a fort, with an amazing view over the city of Trondheim. We had a lovely hot tea over there and continued our tour to the Égon restaurant which is located in a tower on top of a hill and it's rotating! The floor of the restaurant is spinning one round in an hour, so you're able to see Trondheim in 360 degrees! That was pretty awesome!

Hopefully I'll be back in Norway soon! I can't wait to see Trondheim covered in snow! :)

FLYING: Toulouse

Had to spend two days in amazing Toulouse. Gosh, I love France! Such an amazing country! Unfortunately the temperatures weren't really great (I almost packed summer dresses only! Thank God I brought some blazers and pants with me!). We went out for two nights and during the day I walked around in the city. Love the river and the bridges! And via Trondheim I'm back in the Netherlands. I'm going away on Thursday again for another 4 days.

FLYING: Toulouse

Photobucket
It's time for some flying! In a few hours I'll be off to Toulouse, France. Where I spend two days. So if you have any suggestions of places I should definitely visit, let me know!

I also got a new camera. As I mentioned a couple of posts before, my old olympus pocket camera died recently. And since it is not always very comfortable to take the DSRL with me all the time, I bought a new pocket camera. It's an panasonic lumix, with 16mp and 8x optical zoom. It also has a super wide angle lens. This is a picture of myself for which I used the panasonic. With a little bit of help from picasa it turned out pretty nice in my opinion.

Anyway, I'll see you peeps in four days! I'm also nightstopping in trondheim (brrr!)

STEWARDESS: Air travel tips

Photobucket
Since I'm almost spending more time at 30.000ft than on the ground, I figured it might be helpfull to share some tips when it comes to flying. Not only when it comes to fashion, but also about your health and food & beverages during the flight.

This post is the first when it comes to air travel tips, there are more to follow. For now I will tell you everything about outfits, health and ofcourse food and drinks on board. I fly a lot for my work (I'm a cabin attendant) and think I'm able to tell you something about it.

A pressurized cabin, rapid movement over different time zones and as a passenger be seated and being inactive for long periods of time, that's what flying is all about.

Outfits
Whether you have a long or short haul flight, keep in mind that the climate inside the aircraft divers alot from the climate on the ground. You're getting cold easily, also because you spend most of the time sitting. Keep your outfit simple, warm and ofcourse elegant!

As a cabin attendant I hate to see how people travel in their jogging pants or don't bother to get the kids out of their pyjama's! I mean, don't look like you came straight out of your bed, just sayin'. Even though times are changing and flying is not as classy anymore as it just to be , try to stay classy yourself.

My tips for a comfortable, classy and warm outfit during flight:
- Wear a scarf (I prefer a big one) which you can also use as a wrap around. We don't always have enough blankets for everybody during the flight. And in this case, you have you own blanket which is stylish too.
- Your feet can get swollen during the flight, this is because you're sitting down all the time (most of the inflight magazines have some tips for workout while you're sitting!) and due to the pressurized cabin. I always wear some ballerina flats or some comfortable boots. I don't like to wear heals during the flight when I'm traveling as a passenger, but for a short flight it's okay.
- Even though you see many people wearing flip flops, I would suggest not wearing them. As mentioned before, it is cold inside the aircraft. So when it's warm outside from the country you're departing or arriving, take your flip flops with you in your bag, but during flight wear some comfortable ballerina's.
- Layers are always great to wear on board the aircraft.

Outfit suggestions:
- Boyfriend blazer, loose sweater, skinny jeans, scarf and ballerina's.
- Leggings, long top worn as dress, cardigan, scarf and boots.
- Boyfriend jeans, nice comfortable top, blazer and ballerina's.

Health
Keep in mind when traveling that you do need to go through security, who are nowadays very strict when it comes to bringing liquids on board. In the european union (I only fly europe, so don't ask me about any other parts in the world because I can't tell you about that) you can bring a maximum of 10 pieces with a maximum of 100ml each into a plastic, sealed bag.

I suggest you should definitely bring a moisturizing face and hand cream with you. I don't care alot about makeup, so I usually don't bring any other makeup with me on board. But if you do, just keep it simple: bring your mascara, foundation, lipgloss and perhaps your concealer with you. You don't want to bring too many things, also with an eye on the security at the airport and the risk that you need to get rid of your (expensive!) liquids because you crossed the 10 thing rule. Anyway, you can bring food if you want. The airline company I work for offers passengers free food and drinks during the flight, but when you fly with a low cost carrier, you've got a big change you need to pay for things!

So to keep things simple again a list:
- Hydrate your skin before the flight and (depending on the duration of the flight) during the flight as well. Also keep your hands hydrated!

- Drink plenty of water before the flight and during the flight.

- Don't forget to eat before and during the flight. Many people do because of the nerves, but you will feel sick if you don't eat! And trust me, you don't want to feel and be sick in an aircraft!

- Drink coffee and alcohol in moderation. Keep in mind that drinking coffee and alcohol isn't really good when it comes to hydration. Besides that, the effect of alcohol on your body is a couple of times larger then it is on the ground. You can get drunk easily at 30.000ft! And trust me, we don't want drunk passengers on board!

- Try to walk a little bit during the flight. Sitting upright all the time isn't really good for your body. Don't do it during the service, but when the aisle is empty, just walk around in the airplane a little and try to stretch.

- Having earproblems during the flight? It's normal that during landing you need to 'clear' your ears, everybody needs to do that. During take off and landing the pressure in the cabin is changing and that is the reason that your ears are 'popping'. Try to swallow or yawn, it usually helps or eat some gum. If you can't clear your ears anymore, that's a problem! Sometimes nose spray works (otrivin). Ask the cabin attendants or bring your own.

And last but not least: always listen to the cabin attendants and pay attention to the flight safety demonstration.

Blazer - thrift, pants - zara, top - vero moda, bag - thrift (H&M)

So in my previous post I already told you about my reserve duty. I got called out to fly to Zurich, which is one of my favourite destinations. Had a really nice nightstop over there, but stayed close to the hotel. We stay in Oerlikon, a suburb of Zurich. Surrounded by nice woods and fields, I went out for a walk to take some pictures. You can already see signs of autumn in Zurich. The weather wasn't really great either, but still good enough to take some pics and enjoy being outdoor. :)

We're heaving summer temperatures in autumn, think it's caused by climate change. We really had a sh*tty summer, but the temperatures are rising and it's time to unpack some summer clothes! :) Anyway, I had reserve duty for work and went out cycling to discover some nice places in Haarlem. Hope you like the pictures!
